And we have a winner… Park Ji Min was declared the first K-pop Star as she was voted the champion on last Sunday’s episode. While we were personally fans of Lee Ha Yi, Park Ji Min deserved to win. The girl could flat out sing (and she’s only 16 years old) and brought it every week. She has a big, bright future ahead of her and we wish her well and will be waiting for her first digital single (it used to be album but, times have changed).

If SM has to even issue a statement about TaeTiSeo’s name, it means the name is dumb. Sorry SM; should have thought it out.

This guy has gone through some serious hell. We feel sorry for him and his family.

But his cousin, are you serious guy? You are the most jealous and evil person we’ve heard about in some time. Get a life bro. Also - the crazy bastard in Chicago who started all of this; we would never wish anything negative against another human being but for you, we’ll make an exception.

Thanks for the heads up Lana Likes

fckkyoazzbich asked: Sm stated that GGs sub unit will be constantly changing its members. depending on the song and whos voices match it. Twinkle is a mellow ballad, so the sub unit is "TaeTiSeo". The next release will probably be like YoonYulSic for example. That is why the unit doesnt have an official name. Members will be changing. This is so ALL members can showcase their individual specialties instead of having 2 lines per song when all are together. IMO this idea of promotion is better then OCs same 3 members.

We totally understand SM’s logic and their plans but that doesn’t change the fact the name just stinks. Be original, think globally and with the hallyu wave as a reference point. Non-Koreans while they will eventually figure it out, the name doesn’t mean anything and isn’t as marketable as it could be.

We’re not saying you’re wrong, just have a different opinion. Thanks for reading and please, keep bitching at us if you think we’re being stupid. Thanks!

Last night’s Kpop Star saw the farewell of the dark horse Baek Ah Yeon. Even though she was the one that was booted, all 3 singers pretty much sucked and it might have been nerves or fatigue but, no one really ‘showed up’ last night.

Having said that, it was pretty obvious from the very first weeks that the remaining 2 young ladies, Lee Ha Yi and Park Ji Min, were destined to be the final 2. They were clearly better than the other contestants and more than that, had the most upside.

It was also interesting to see each contestant sing with established idol groups to see how they would it in. We thought that the arrangements gave too much air time to the idol groups rather than the contestants and not all of them were comfortable (Lee Ha Yi) but fun to watch. Also - can someone please tell Tiffany that winking every 3 seconds does not increase the merit of her performance? She needs to stop doing that.

Next week’s episode is going to be good IF each girl can bring their A game. Their styles are so different and they’re both unique so, here’s hoping the best women wins and Boa doesn’t cry like a kid again.

Taetiseo. As many of you have heard, that’s the name for the new “sub unit” for Girls Generation, taking the first syllable of the members names - Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun - and creating a group while other members are busy with other activities. While the idea for having a mini group within a group is a great, are we the only ones that think that name is stupid?

First, it sounds like you’re saying the word “tit”. Yes, the slang vernacular referring to a women’s breast. Second, is this the best SM could do? They already got lazy on the name Girls’ Generation by ripping off Lee Seung Chul’s song but now they use what amounts to Korean acronyms?

SM has always been the weakest when thinking of new group names (can someone PLEASE explain to us what the hell Super Junior means?) but this is just bordering on lazy.

We think the group will do great and have success because these 3 girls can actually sing but, their success certainly won’t have anything to do with that dumb name… Kind of makes Orange Caramel more appealing…

Dude, Lee Byung Hun is the man. He just dates all the hotties and gets away with it.
For the rest of us mere mortals, follow the advise of singer Jimmy Soul:
“If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty women your wife. So from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you.”

Kpop Star is down to the final 3 contestants and while we here at Kpop360 thought Baek Ah Yeon sang the best, we’re still in the bag for Lee Ha Yi and that voice of hers. Granted, her rendition of T’s “As Time Goes By” wasn’t the greatest thing ever but was the only one that made us sit up and listen. Either way, the 3 finalists deserve to be here and we’re ready for next week… only 6 more days to go.

Krystal is the new hotness.

Ailee is legit.. except for the valley girl flakiness thing.

Korean drama alert!

For all of you Korean drama fans, there are two new ones that were highly anticipated and just recently debuted; Fashion King and Love Rain

Fashion King is about love, reaching for the stars, and the cut throat world of fashion with the ever popular poor girl, poor guy, rich guy trifecta. The drama is said to feature the latest fashions with shots on location in New York and stars Shin Se Kyung and Yuri from SNSD.

Love Rain is an epic love story spanning multiple decades and generations taking a page out of the classic 1970’s movie, “Love Story”. This drama also seems to have the poor girl (orphaned), poor guy, rich guy formula as well but seems a bit more complicated as there are different generations of lovers involved. The drama stars hallyu megastar Jang Geun Suk and SNSD’s Yoona.

The crew at Kpop360 watched the first episodes of each drama because they star Girl’s Generation members but not even they could save what we saw. Both shows literally put us to sleep… Couldn’t stay awake for either one. Having said that, the world of fashion and back stabbing seems trite and frankly, boring. But a story about unrequited love and that spilling over to the parent’s children… that doesn’t seem too interesting either.

Verdict: Wait until episode 5, read the online comments, and then choose which one to watch. :) By the way, we walked by a taping of Fashion King in Times Square but it just looked like really good looking Korean tourists taking a video of themselves in New York.

Update: So SBS yanked down the videos of Kpop Star on YouTube so relying on the ole picture.

Has everyone been watching the live episodes of Kpop Star? Is it us or are they super boring? The judges aren’t fun, the contestants haven’t produced a single “WOW” moment yet. It’s still early and these are young kids so maybe with some more practice, they’ll get better.
The other thing is, there’s so much attention paid to Park Ji Min, Michelle Lee, and Lee Ha Yi that the other contestants seem like secondary acts (even though skill wise they kind of are) but beware Big 3, some of these other guys are gonna start creeping on you.
Speaking of creeping, does anyone else think it’s weird that Boa has this cougar (relatively speaking) crush on Park Jae Hyung? She gave the dude a 92 which was her 2nd highest score of the evening and was even more than Michelle Lee, Lee Ha Yi and others. She better shape up and start being fair because this calls into question the entire integrity of the show.
We’ll continue to watch but there better be something big coming…

Dude, Ailee can sing! She has to learn what dynamics are and not scream everything but, the girl has pipes… too bad she doesn’t sing more in Dream High 2. That show stinks…
